To all parents and carers

Today has obviously been a very busy day trying to respond to the current situation we find ourselves in as a school. We would like to thank you for your patience whilst we have been working on our plan.

As previously explained, for now we have had to prioritise full time face to face education for our most vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers. All parents and carers of these children and young people have now been contacted.

We apologise to all of the pupils and their families who we have not been able to accommodate at this time. This is not a situation we want to be in at all and we hope that it is not too long before we can welcome all of our pupils back full time. We cannot thank our parents and carers enough for being so understanding about the very difficult and unpopular decisions we have been forced to make over the past couple of days. We really appreciate the support and kindness you have given us.

We are keeping this plan under constant review and if we have the staffing capacity to offer face to face education to any more pupils at any point in the coming days and weeks, we will do our very best to make this happen.

Every single pupil is special and important to us and for those pupils who are being asked to stay at home, they are still very much part of their class and we will do our best to deliver what we can remotely and in partnership with parents and carers. Your child’s teacher and the staff team who support them in school will be in regular contact and on hand to support all pupils who will be learning at home for the time being. We know that this is not an ideal situation and that remote learning is very difficult for a lot of our pupils, but we are here to help you every step of the way. You will be contacted about this individually in due course.

As always, our staff are always keen to help in any way that we can, so please get in touch with us if you need to.

My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time. Stay strong and stay safe. We inevitably have a bumpy road ahead, but we will get through this storm together.

Thank you to all of you.
